1st trailer for Tokushu Houdoubu puts the spotlight on the supernatural instead of Uta no Prince-sama cameos
We already knew that the artwork in Tokushu Houdoubu (Special Report Division, 特殊報道部), illustrated by manga artist Hiro Kiyohara (Another), would be enchanting.
But you never truly get a sense of just how captivating the visuals in a game are until you’ve seen it in motion – and that’s exactly what publisher Nippon Ichi Software has decided to address today, by releasing a first trailer for the game.
The trailer also details some of the supernatural incidents that you’ll run into during the course of the game.
Tokushu Houdoubu, one of Nippon Ichi Software’s several 20th anniversary projects, tells the story of a band of TV reporters and producers who investigate paranormal activities in hopes of bringing them to light on TV.
As Kaede Watarai, a part-timer at the local TV station’s Special Report Division who’s said to have experienced being abducted by extraterrestrials, you go on the trail of the supernatural, recording interviews with individuals and collecting clues towards your next scoop, before returning to the TV studio to sort out your materials – figure out which pieces are relevant – for the night’s broadcast.
Asami Seto, Miyuki Sawashiro and Tomoaki Maeno lead the voice cast in Tokushu Houdoubu.
Characters from Uta no Prince-sama will also make cameo appearances in the game, as part of a cross-over promotion for Broccoli and Nippon Ichi’s recently-released PSP title, Uta no Prince-sama Debut – in which Miyuki Sawashiro and Tomoaki Maeno happen to have key voice roles, too.
