Famitsu.com takes a look at the online modes in Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 5. Other than standard ranked matches, a two-player online training (which was first introduced in the genre by Street Fighter X Tekken) and 16-player tournament modes will be included.
There’s also text chat support, for those of you who don’t feel like putting on a headset and chatting with your opponent when you’re about to slaughter them in the 3D fighter.
Famitsu also has a batch of images that shows Brad Wong, Elliot, Helena and La Mariposa (Lisa) slugging it out. The four characters were the latest to be confirmed for Dead or Alive 5, which comes some seven years after the previous numbered title in the series, 4.
Dead or Alive 5 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles is scheduled for release on September 25. Like with Tekken Tag Tournament 2, pre-orderers are entitled to a set of swimsuits for the characters:
