This week’s Famitsu magazine revealed that Shining Ark, a brand new entry in Sega’s “Shining” series of fantasy RPG games, is in the works for the PSP. No images have been leaked on the net here, but here’s what we know so far.
As with the most Shining Blade, the most recent series instalment, Tony Taka of T2 Art Works’ fame is returning as character designer. And although Sega is taking on publishing duties (since, you know, it’s their IP), Media Vision is named as the developer.
Shining Ark‘s story revolves around Freed, a mysterious man who washes up ashore on a secluded island at the start of the game, and finds a one-winged angel (whose wing is black in colour) in the village of Arcadia on the island.
CV: Hiroshi Kamiya (神谷浩史)
Becomes leader of the island’s group patrol. Raised in the house of Shannon’s family, who adopted Freed when he washed up ashore as a child.
CV: Houko Kuwaashima (桑島法子)
A young girl who has a black wing on her back. Said to be an angel according to folklore.
CV: Mai Aizawa (相沢舞)
An elf who runs a bakery on the island.
CV: Tetsu Inada (稲田徹)
A fellow soldier of Freed’s who understands him well. His main occupation is that of a fisherman, however.
We’ll update this post later if and when we find images of the Famitsu story. Check back later, or tomorrow (Famitsu magazine officially goes on sale on Thursdays).
