Designed by Odessa (a group of Vocaloid artists and producers), this “Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F dedicated mini controller for PlayStation 3″ from Hori weighs about 2KG and has dimensions of approximately 370mm x 225mm x 60mm. Yeah. So much for “mini”.
Not much is known yet about this mysterious controller, but as you can see from the image above, it features four directional buttons as well as those with PlayStation’s trademark “circle, X, square, triangle” stamped on it.
On top of all that, this controller also appears to be equipped with two analog sticks. And a star-shaped icon just happens to be situated close to those analog sticks.
Could this be a hint as to how star-shaped icons will be played in Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F on the PS3 (on Project Diva f for the PS Vita, you rub at the touchscreen to “scratch” star-shaped notes).
Although you might think that this is a wireless controller judging from the image above (“look ma, no wires!”), Hori says that this dedicated controlled is actually wired, with a cable length of approximately 3m. Also, what you’re seeing is not the final design of the controller. It’s subject to change.
The Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F dedicated mini controller for PlayStation 3 (初音ミク -Project DIVA- F 専用ミニコントローラ for PlayStation®3) is priced at 9,800 yen including tax. No release date has been given.
