Steins;Gate, the oddly-punctuated Xbox 360 Science Adventure title from 2009 is getting a true sequel. Entitled Steins;Gate Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram (phenogram of linear restriction) is scheduled to be released on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Spring 2013.
The announcement was made at a Live 5pb.2012 concert event over the weekend.
Unlike love-comedy spin-off Steins;Gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling (which takes place shortly after Okabe first sends out a D-mail) or non-canon sequel Steins;Gate 8-bit, the scenario in Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram apparently takes on a serious style, and this time the story will be told not just through the viewpoint of protagonist Rintarou Okabe, but also through the eyes of other Rabomen (laboratory members).
Screenshots reveal that the game will be directed and written by Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head author Chokkou Rin, who apparently has a penchant for semicolons, and produced by Tatsuya Matsuhara (who is credited with inventing the “phone trigger” system in the original Steins;Gate game.)
