A few months ago, we merely heard a vague announcement about a second Gintama movie coming in 2013.
Thankfully, during the Shueisha-organized event Jump Festa this past weekend, it was confirmed that the upcoming anime film will premiere next summer. The movie’s original plot is written by the Gintama manga author himself, Hideaki Sorachi.
The cast of the series, Tomokazu Sugita (as Gintoki), Daisuke Sakaguchi (as Shinpachi) and Yu Kobayashi (as Ayame Sarutobi) went on stage to talk about the upcoming film. The story of the movie has yet to be finalized by the manga author. That’s why in the middle of their promotion, they mentioned that they were worried about the norovirus caught by Sorachi becoming a hindrance in the movie’s slated release.
Every excited fan gets dismayed whenever there’s a delay. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope for Sorachi’s speedy recovery so that Gintama’s second movie will premiere in Japan as scheduled.
