Dokidoki Precure

A new mahou shoujo anime will premiere next year.

The upcoming TV anime series, Dokidoki! Precure, has updated its official website with new information—including the introduction on the main characters, theme songs and story.

Dokidoki! Precure’s story goes like this: Mana Aida, an Oogai 1st Middle School second year student, was on her way to the top of the town’s Clover Tower when a monster suddenly appeared. She meets a fairy from the Trump Kingdom named Charles. With the magical fairy’s aid, Mana transforms into Cure Heart.

Character introduction:

Mana Aida (a.k.a. Pure Heart). Mana is the president of the student council. She has a cheerful and energetic personality. Both her fellow students and adults rely on her. Her actions usually get ahead of her thinking and she resolves problems by herself.

Mana’s partner is the fairy with a warm heart, Charles.

Dokidoki Precure Mana

Rikka Hishikawa (a.k.a. Cure Diamond). Rikka is Mana’s childhood friend and neighbor. She is the wise and quiet type. Rikka is supportive of her childhood friend, especially when she gets into trouble. She likes studying and even got into the top ten of the national mock exams.

Rikka’s partner is the fairy with a mature personality, Raquel.

Arisu Yotsuba (a.k.a. Cure Rosetta). Arisu is the lady of the Yotsuba clan. She previously went to the same elementary school with Mana and Rikka, and is currently studying in Nanatsuhashi Academy, a prestigious school. Her high stature makes her say things that are outrageous for the common people.

Arisu’s partner is the spoiled and the youngest of the fairies, Lance.

Dokidoki Precure Arisu

Cure Sword. She is a warrior from the Trump Kingdom who escaped together with Queen Mary Ange to Earth. She regrets being unable to save her kingdom. Now separated from Queen Mary Ange, Cure Sword is in constant search for the queen.

Her partner is Dabby, a fairy who is worried about Cure Sword not wanting to rely on her comrades.

Dokidoki Precure Cure Sword

The title of the opening theme is Happy Go Lucky! Dokidoki! Precure sung by Tomoyo Kurosawa. On the other hand, the ending song is Kono Sora no Mukou by Hitomi Yoshida. According to the website, the theme song compilation CD will be released on March 6, 2013.

Dokidoki! Precure will start airing on February 3, 2013.

Aside from the TV series, the anime franchise will also release プリキュアオールスターズ ぜんいんしゅうごう☆レッツダンス! (Precure All Stars Zenin Shuugou☆Let’s Dance) for the Nitendo Wii console. The dance game is scheduled for release on March 28 in Japan.
