Namco Bandai Games is working on a sequel to One Piece: Kaizoku Musou (One Piece: Pirate Warriors in the English-speaking world), the latest issue of Jump magazine is revealing this week.
Simply entitled “One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2” (One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2), the game is based on the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures in the New World, which is the second half of the Grand Line ocean route in the manga and anime series’s universe.
The sequel will feature a new mode of play that is said to cover “unseen adventures” (likely to be original scenarios not already detailed in the manga or anime series), and new characters and stages that didn’t make it into the first game.
No price or release date details (not even a vague “sometime in 2013”) were revealed. There is, however, a mock-up of what the box art for One Piece: Kaizuoku Musou 2 on the PS3 could look up, albeit subject to change.
One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2 will make an appearance at Jump Festa 2013, to be held at the Makuhari Messe later this month on December 22 and 23. Both a trailer and a playable demo of the game will be exhibited at Namco Bandai Games’s booth.
