Tamayura, the anime that started as an OVA series in 2010, has been described as relaxing and heartwarming, Those of you who have never watched the series will get a chance when the second season airs in July.
Tamayura is about a girl named Fuu Sawatari whose father passed away five years earlier. Fuu moves to her father’s hometown, Takehara, and attends the school there, where she practices photography with the film camera he left behind. The series is directed by Junichi Satou, who is responsible for the famously peaceful Aria: The Animation.
At the Tamayura promotion event held in Tokyo Dome City Hall on April 14, the staff from TYO Animations announced the official title of the second season: “Tamayura ~More Aggressive~”
They also confirmed that the opening and ending themes will be performed by the same artists as the first season, Maaya Sakamoto and Megumi Nakajima, so fans of the series can look forward to those singers returning.
In addition, they revealed a new character, Kanae Mitani, whom you can see below. The voice actress playing her will be Ai Kayano, who also played Inori from Guilty Crown and Mashiro from Pet na Kanojo.
Kanae is a Takehara resident who goes to the same school as Fuu. Like Fuu, Kanae enjoys photography, but she tends to overthink things, leading to analysis paralysis.
There were a lot of fans at the event, who were all excited when Kanae was revealed. Also present were various cast members, including Ayana Taketatsu, Kana Asumi, and Yuka Iguchi. With so many people supporting Tamayura, you may want to watch the second season when it airs this July.
