The 52nd Shizouka Hobby show has now officially started and several big name hobby makers have announced their new line of products.
Of course, the biggest name out there is Bandai. Featured is their recently announced MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 3.0. Along with the newest RX-78-2 version, Bandai is also featuring their new 0083 Stardust memory line for the RG. The RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes and the RX-78GP01fb Gundam GP01 Full-Burnern. For their 1/144 HGUC line, Bandai displayed the PMX-000 Messala from Mobile suit Gundam Zeta. They also displayed their new 1/72 VF-1A/S Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo) from Macross.
Bandai wasn’t the only big name to have their latest plastic models on display. Tamiya Revved up their line-up with their latest Mini-4WD, the Blast Arrow. Along with the new Mini-4WD, they also displayed several new military models like the 1/35 JGSDF Type 10 MBT, 1/32 F-4U1 “Bird Cage” Corsair and the 1/700 scale US Navy Destroyer Hammann
Hasegawa Hobby kits are displaying the 1/450 scale model of the legendary Japanese destroyer, the Yamato. Aoshima meanwhile is going with their 1/700 Gigant from the anime “Conan, the Boy in Future”.
Fine Molds is also showing a great display with a 1/72 scale model of Darth Vader’s TIE fighter.
One series that has been gaining attention for modelers is “Girls und Panzer”. Fine Molds has made a 1/20 scale 4×4 Jeep with the characters and insignia from the anime. Platz is also featuring the anime. They are releasing four new tanks; three 1/35 scale and one 1/72 scale. For the 1/35 scale, the much awaited Maus and the Jagdtiger From the Kuromomine Girl’s school. From Pravda High School comes the Soviet T-34/ 85. For the 1/72 comes the Angler fish team’s Panzer Mk-IV Ausf.D (F2 type).
