You have not heard us wrongly, avid Vanguard fans now have a chance to challenge the CEO of Bushiroad, Takaaki Kidani in a duel. Do you think you have a chance against him? Try your luck only at Funan Anime Fest 2013 supported by Anime Festival Asia happening at Funan DigitaLife Mall from May 27 to June 2.

For the brave, the CEO Challenge will be held only on 29 May from 5-6PM. So, please do not miss this once in a lifetime chance to meet him and challenge him to a duel. Special prizes will be given to those who challenge or perhaps, defeat him!

Other than challenging the CEO himself, do check out the other activities organized for players of all playing levels, novice to expert.

Normal 16-man tournaments for both the Japanese and English version of the game will be held from 27 to 31 May at 5PM and 7PM respectively. But for those who prefer playing as a team, do not fret as there are also team tournaments on 1 and 2 June.

Bored with the conventional tournament? Not to worry, there are activities for those who wish to participate in a clan war. Throughout the event, all players may register themselves and their opponents before they start a free play match in the playing area.

The process is easy, just provide your name, contact number, email address and most importantly, the clan of the deck you are using. Then report the result of the match to the staff on duty. On the last day of the event, the scores will then be tabulated and 3 lucky players whose clan have the most wins will win prizes sponsored by Bushiroad.

For those who own the 3DS Cardfight!! Vanguard game, you are in luck. Just come over on the June 1 and 2 and participate in a 32 slot tournament. Participants in the tournament will get a game code for Soul Silver Dragon. Of course, you have to update your game to the latest version to receive this perk.

Lastly, for those who wish to hone their skills, do check out the Cardfight!! Vanguard and English Weiss Schwarz workshops held from May 27 to 31 at 11AM, 12PM, 1PM and 2PM. There are only 4 slots per game in each sessions. So what are you waiting for? Go down to Funan DigitaLife Mall to register for slots on the day of the event!

Other than the tournaments, what is an Anime event without guest cosplayers?

The AFA facebook page have just announced the first wave of cosplayers coming to the sunny island of Singapore!

First of all, we have Angie, or some of you might know her as Ringo, from Malaysia! She was discovered during AFA Malaysia under Moe Moe Kyun Maid Café in 2012. So for those who wish to see her again, please do come down for this event. Check out her interview on AFA Channel here!

Next up, we have Ying Tze, or otherwise known as Cheryl, also from Malaysia. She has done quite a lot of characters, ranging from cute to sexy. We cannot help but wonder what costume she will appear in in this Anime Matsuri. Check out her Facebook page here!

Last up on the list would be Natumi from Taiwan. Her specialty is doing cosplay of J-pop artistes rather than the conventional Anime type cosplay. From her profile, she seems to favour cosplaying Mayu Watanabe from AKB48. So do check her out in this event! For those who wish to know more, check out her cosplay album here!

Do not forget that this is only the first wave of events officially announced in this 5 day anime extravaganza. More details will be put up soon, so please look out for the latest news at!
