As part of their anniversary celebration, Momoiro Clover Z held a 24 hour live stream on May 16 and had a virtual audience of over one million.

Momoiro Clover Z recently hit a landmark when the group turned five. Of course, to celebrate a momentous occasion, a momentous party is in event, so the group members vowed to stay up for24 hours straight from May 16 to May 17. To make sure fans got something out of it, and that they could be sure the group did good on their promise, they opened up a special MomoClo TV channel on USTREAM Asia.

The streaming service is largely crowd funded, with an optional “tip” service available to reward good streamers. Because of the largely free content, MomoClo TV and the idol group themselves were able to reach an audience of over 1,600,000 people. By sheer numbers alone they have managed to win the Ustream Top Award for 2012, despite it being 2013.

They are still hosting content from the stream on their USTREAM site, including the concert that they performed at the end of their 24 hour livestream.
