Regarding Be the Light, ONE OK ROCK commented that this song is about the feelings of each member in regards to the sad events happening in this world which cannot be saved by the power of mankind.

With a popular rock band singing the film’s theme song, a star studded cast such as Shun Oguri, Haruma Miura and Yu Aoi, will also be lending their voices to this movie. Shun Oguri is definitely a familiar name as he has acted in many popular Japanese drama such as Hana Yori Dango, Tokyo DOGS and Arakawa Under the Bridge, while Haruma has also acted in Bloody Monday, Gokusen 3 and Samurai High School. Yuu Aoi also has many dramas and movie under her belt too, such as acting as Takani Megumi in the live action adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin.

For those who are unfamiliar with Sci-fi anime, this movie is a remake of classic manga “Space Pirate Captain Harlock” by Leiji Matsumoto. Leiji Matsumoto is also known for his other works such as Galaxy Express 999 and Space Battleship Yamamoto. This series is serialized from 1977 to 1979 and also has an anime series broadcast in 1978. It is undeniable that with such a futuristic theme featured back in its day, it has attracted many fans in both Japan and all around the world. This classic shall be remade with the aid of modern CGI, giving it a new lease of life and perhaps attract a new generation of fans. The teaser image and trailer definitely looks promising.
