A new visual for Sorachi Hideaki’s Gintama movie “Gintama the Movie: Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya” has just been revealed today, May 27.
The new key visual is quite thought provoking. In the visual is the trio of Yorozuya Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura smiling at us, as if to say goodbye. Below that is a grown-up, future version of Shinpachi and Kagura, without any trace of a future Gintoki at all. All that’s left of the so-called white demon is his trademark Lake Toya wooden sword, which Shinpachi carries, and his very familiar white kimono with blue design, worn by Kagura. Could something have happened to Gin so that only mementos of him are left?
Advanced selling of the movie tickets will start on June 1. A special clear folder using the new visual will be given as a special promo to those who buy in the advanced selling. However, the folder is limited in number so not all who buy will be given one. The special promo for the folder ends as soon as the final folder is given away. The folder itself is the one in the image above.
Gintama the Movie: Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya starts showing on July 6. This is a special movie all written by the manga artist Sorachi Hideaki himself and as with the movie title, this is the final chapter, putting an end to the anime series as well. For those who can’t get enough Gintama, the manga is still ongoing so Gintama as a whole isn’t ending yet.
The series ran for a good four years too, and spawned numerous light novels, CDs, and video games. You did good, Gintoki, you did good.
