After an announcement for a second season, ChuKoi surprises fans with even more news.
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions), or ChuKoi, garnered quite a following when the first season aired last fall. It’s not treating its fans unkindly either, as they announced the second season last month, and have recently followed up with the announcement that there will be a movie in the fall. They did this by releasing a new trailer for it on the official KyoAni channel on YouTube.
The full title of the movie is a bigger giveaway for what it will actually be about. Called Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!~ The Rikka Takanashi Revision Movie~ (Takanashi Rikka Kai ~Gekijou-ban Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!~), the film, like most anime films of a big series, will follow the plot of the first season of the show. The catch is that it will be told through Rikka’s point of view, rather than Yuta’s. It will also have a new scene at the end of the film to act as a prologue to the second season, so that’s certainly something to look forward to.
The original cast of the show will be returning, as will the staff of the TV Anime. Because the movie is set to revolve around Rikka’s point of view, the opening for the film will also be sung by her. The ending theme, Black Raison d´être will be performed by Rikka, Yuta, Sanae, and Kumin.
Films in Japan usually mean advanced ticket sales and goods to go with them. In the case of ChuKoi, they will be clear files featuring the female cast in swimsuits, ready for the summer heat. They can only be obtained by advance ticket orders, the first wave of which will start June 15 and cost 1500 yen. The film premieres September 14 and will also only be showing in select theaters across Japan, but if you plan on being in Tokyo or Osaka at the time there are several locations in the cities that will be showing it.
