With the 53rd All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2013 all set and ready to go, several sneak peek images have surfaced and plastic modelers all over the world have become even more excited as to what the event will unveil.
For more than a decade now, Gunpla fans have been longing for a Master Grade (MG) plastic model hailing from the After War (Gundam X) timeline. So far, it has been the only timeline not to have a Master Grade in the line-up as the Universal Century (UC), Future Century (G Gundam), Correct Century (Turn A), After Colony (Gundam Wing), Cosmic Era (SEED), Anno Domini (00) and Advanced Generation (AGE) all have had MG kits. PlaMo fans however need not fret for new images from the event have surfaced and they do confirm a Master Grade Gundam X!
This looooong awaited model kit is scheduled for release January 2014 for 3,800 yen. Will Bandai ever do a Master Grade Double X? With the announcement of this first MG kit from the AW timeline, who knows? Only time will tell.
The event will also feature the 1/144 HGUC V2 Gundam from Gundam Victory. Like the Aile Strike, no exact release date and price have been given so far.
Painted versions of the HG Gundam Thunderbolt series have also surfaced. Both the Zaku II (Thunderbolt Ver.) and the Full Armor Gundam (Thunderbolt ver.) are set for release December 2013. The Zaku II will cost 3,800 yen while the Full Armor Gundam will cost 2,700 yen.
The 1/144 HGUC Silver Bullet has also been announced. This bad boy is slated for release February 2014.
Canon meanwhile presented a life-size portrait of the bust of Char’s Zaku II. This image was masterfully printed by their PIXUS printers which also comes in the colors of the infamour “Red Comet”, Char Aznable.
The event will be opened to the public starting tomorrow, October 12 and will end the next day, October 13, 2013. It is held in the Makuhari Messe Hall 9 in Chiba.
