For 40 years, Lupin III has thrilled manga readers with it’s exciting “Catch-me-if-you-can” story lines and various plot twists.
Now, the live action movie’s main cast has finally been revealed and leading the cast will be Shun Oguri who is known for his roles in Hana Yorin Dango, Arakawa Under the Bridge live-action, Detective Conan live-action tv movie and Gokusen. He is also known for his voice acting as he voiced Capt. Harlock in the 2013 CG animation movie Space Pirate Captain Harlock.
Playing the role of Fujiko Mine will be Meisa Kuroki who appeared in One Missed Call: Final and Taitei no Ken.
Tetsuji Tamayama meanwhile will be playing the role of Daisuke Jigen. He is known for playing Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger’s Gao Silver/ Tsukumaro Oogami.
Goemon Ishikawa meanwhile will be played by Gou Ayano who is known for playing Rorouni Kenshin villain Gain, Gatchaman’s Joe Asakura the Condor and Kamen Rider 555’s Spider Orphenoch/Aki Sawada.
The lovable Detective Kouichi Zenigata meanwhile will be played by Tadanobu Asano who was recently seen in the hit Marvel movie Thor: The Dark World as Hogun as well as 2012 hit action movie Battleship where he starred alongside Liam Neeson and Rihanna.
The movie is directed by Godzilla: Final Wars director Ryuuhei Kitamura and its script is written by Crows Zero writer Mataichirou Yamamoto.
The movie began filming last October 3 and it will take the cast to Thailand starting in the New Year.
