Atlus has just announced Persona 4: Dancing All Night (P4D), a “rhythm sound action” game that they’re developing in collaboration with studio Dingo — the developers behind Photokano, Photokano Kiss, the upcoming Love Live! School Idol Project PS Vita title, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, Project Diva 2nd, and Project Diva Extend.
Although this is a rhythm game developed mostly by the folks at Dingo, the title will feature a storyline penned by the Persona team.
Set half a year after the events of Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Dancing All Night tells the story of Rise Kujikawa as she returns to showbiz as an idol. Just as she was “getting back into the groove”, so as to speak, an odd occurance happens in Inaba that pulls Rise back into the world of Midnight Channel once again.
Other Persona 4 characters confirmed to be making an appearance in P4D include the Hero (Narukami Yu), Yosuke, Chie and Kanji. A new female character named Kanami, who is a junior idol in the same talent management agency that Rise is attached to, is also involved in P4D’s narrative.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night is slated for release on the PlayStation Vita in Japan Autumn 2014.
