Everybody’s favorite alien bookworm from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya will finally be having her own spin-off anime… but it will be one based on her alternate dimension self (a regular girl) introduced during the events on “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya”.
The announcement for her new anime just came in this morning, December 18, 2013 and it was presented in a very mysterious and puzzling manner, just like Yuki Nagato herself.
The Haruhi TV anime website http://www.haruhi.tv/ has suddenly disappeared and in place is an apparent “error message”. However, a hidden message can be found if you highlight the area under the “error message”.
The hidden text says “The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan docomo android” along with a link to the Docomo anime store where you can find this message:
The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan Anime Adaptation in the Works
The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato-chan is an official spin-off manga based on the popular Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series by Nagaru Tanigawa. It is written and drawn by manga artist Puyo and focuses on the alternate universe made during “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya” which was also adapted into a feature-length anime movie.
The Nagato in this new series is quite unlike the poker-faced kuudere (emotionless girl) you usually see in the anime. Instead of the usual emotionless bookworm, this spin-off Nagato is presented as the shy and bashful one previously seen in the movie.
