Shounen Jump!‘s upcoming 45th anniversary brawl, J-Stars Victory VS is shaping up to be quite the battle with a stellar cast comprised of some of the biggest names in anime and manga. Now, Namco Bandai Games has released not one, not two, but four new game play videos for four legendary characters – Naruto’s titular shinobi, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo’s Ryotsu, Fist of the North Star’s Kenshiro and Yu Yu Hakusho’s Yuusuke.
Let’s start off with the loud mouth ninja who always charges into battle with his Rasengan blazing, Naruto. Being aggressive is a huge part of your strategy as far as Naruto is concerned as he focuses on his punishing Rasengan and Rasen Shuriken to get the job done. He relies on his shadow clones to confuse opponents and will mainly be using a lot of taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat). He can also transform into his Sage Mode and his Kurama Mode to truly let out his power.
We then take a look at Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo’s lovable police officer, Kankichi Ryotsu who will be using a variety of police weapons from sniper rifles to the rocket fireworks launcher to bring down his opponents. He is also quite mobile as he can make use of a bike to escape from dangerous situations as well as catch up to escaping enemies. A gigantic top will also be his weapon in bringing down opponents as well as use stealth tactics to take down opponents from a distance with his rifle.
Now let’s take a peek at the mighty Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. Like Naruto, aggression is key to his strategy. Like the anime and manga, Kenshiro can throw a lot of punches in quick succession. Atatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata!!!!!!!! Who here is excited to see him finally square off against Goku , Joseph Joestar or Toriko?
REEEEEEEEI GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN !!!!!!!!!! There’s no other move that’s associated with Yu Yu Hakusho’s “Spirit Detective, Yuusuke Urameshi and that very move will be a huge help in battling the very best Shounen Jump! has to offer. Not only is he is a huge threat from a distance with the Rei Gun, his martial arts prowess can also be feared, and like Kenshiro, he can also strike in quick succession (though not as much). As he is of demonic origin and is a descendant of the Demon King Raizen, Yuusuke can call upon his demonic powers to transform to provide maximum hurt.
J-Stars Victory VS for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms is scheduled for release in Japan on March 19. 2014.
