2 Attack on Titan compilation movies announced for 2014 and 2015 and new details announced for the live action movie
The official Attack on Titan website has just announced that there will be two movies released for 2014 and 2015. These two movies will compile the entire anime and will be screened in theaters all over Japan.
All 25 episodes will be squeezed into the two movies and will chronicle the events from the fall of Wall Maria to the battle against the mysterious female titan. Part I will be titled Guren no Yumiya while Part II will be titled Jiyuu no Tsubasa, in other words, both movies will be titled after the two Attack on Titan OP songs, both of which are performed by Linked Horizon.
The first film, Guren no Yumiya, will cover episodes 1-13 while the second film, Jiyuu no Tsubasa, will cover episodes 14-25. The new film will feature a 5.1 inch digital remaster as well as new dubbing but will retain the same cast of characters from the anime.
Speaking of Attack on Titan movies, it has been announced that the characters for the live action version will be designed by famed illustrator and designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto who has done designs for Evangelion and Summer Wars. The mecha/costumes/creature designs will be done by Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children’s Takayuki Takeya while the concept design will be done by Kouji Tajima who has recently designed concept artworks for Space Pirate Captain Harlock. Haruma Miura is set to star in the live action film which will be directed by famed Japanese special effects director, Shinji Higuchi. Filming for the movie will begin this summer 2014.
