Gundam Build Fighters ‘new series’ announced, upcoming GunPla previewed at 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show 2014
It’s official! A new Gundam Build Fighters anime series is currently in the works! This was announced at the 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show via a wall display.
At the moment we do not know if this new series is a direct continuation of the Gundam Build Fighters TV anime, but there’s a good chance that this will turn out to be a Gundam Build Fighters Season 2, since the first season was very well-received.
With that said, do note that anime makers use the term “new series” for anything from OVAs and anime movies, to anime Webisodes — so this may not necessarily be a TV anime series. And even if it is a TV anime series, it may not be a second season.
New images from the 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show have just been released and it offers many plastic modelers and builders a sneak peek at some very mouth-watering upcoming PlaMo from various companies like Hasegawa, Tomy, and of course, Bandai who have now announced their latest 1/100 GunPla line, the Re/100 or the Reborn/100 whose very first model, The Nightingale, was leaked earlier.
They also revealed that Project No. 02 and 03 for this new 1/100 GunPla category. Project No. 02 will be the Gundam Mk III while Project No. 03 will be the RX78GP04 Gundam Gerbara.
Bandai also announced the new MG 1/100 Hi-Nu Gundam Ver. Ka. This seems to be a good match for the Re/100 Nightingale.
Here are some of the other GunPla images from the event which include a fully painted HGAW 1/144 Gundam Airmaster, HGBF Gundam Exia Amazing, HGBF Wing Gundam Fenice Rinascita, HGBF Gouf R35, RG 1/144 Char’s Z’gok, MG 1/100 Turn X, The massive HGUC 1/144 Neo Zeong, and many many more.
Bandai also unveiled their non-GunPla plastic models like their 1/48 scale Ingram, their LBX series, Analyzer from Space Battleship Yamato 2199, and many more.
Bandai wasn’t the only company to show off their goodies. Hasegawa displayed their upcoming Macross PlaMo while Tomytec showed everyone their upcoming plastic models.
The 53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show 2014 will open its doors to the public from May 17-18 at the Twin Messe Shizuoka. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must take my wallet to the hospital for severe bleeding. That Nightingale and that Neo Zeong are a bit too tempting I’m afraid.
