KLab announced earlier this year that the massively popular mobile game Love Live! School Idol Festival will be released overseas sometime this spring. Well, it’s spring, and the game is finally here. Yes, you read that right. You can download School Idol Festival on your iOS or Android device this very moment.
The English version is available in every country besides Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Korea. Before you search for the game, note that the English name is “School Idol Festival”. There is no “Love Live!”, for some odd reason.
The game is free and uses 43.1 megabytes to install, after which you can open up the title screen to the song “Takaramono’s”. You’ll have to wait some more when the game updates, especially after you clear the tutorial.
As you can expect, the voices are still in Japanese while the text is in English.
As Love Live fans may already know, School Idol Festival already has a massive following in Japan and reached 2 million users in February. Japanese mobile games aren’t import-friendly, but now that you can play it on your own phone or tablet, you can finally join the members of μ’s on their adventure and see what the hype is all about.
Can you beat this writer’s first attempt? (You probably can.)
Of course, the songs are easy at first, but they get harder later on. Like “Otome Shiki Renai Juku” in EX mode.
And don’t forget, the second season of Love Live! is airing now, and Love Live! School Idol Paradise is also coming to the PS Vita on July 24.
