After Oculus Rift took a few lucky people into the world of Sword Art Online last Anime Expo 2014, including SAO creator Reki Kawahara, the futuristic device is once again taking people into the anime world, this time in the futuristic world of Knights of Sidonia.

During the Anime Festa in Tokorazawa event held in Saitama Prefecture last August 12, 2014, a new program surrounding Knights of Sidonia for the Oculus Rift was unveiled and it boasts a 360 degree view of what it is like piloting one of Sidonia’s most powerful weapons in the war against the Gauna, the Gardes.

The program lets people literally “enter the world of anime” as they are immediately taken inside a Gardes cockpit and get the feel of what it is like piloting these robots as well as what it is like flying through outer space. The program will start things off as the Gardes launches from Sidonia, ready to fulfill its mission.

The program also boasts powerful and realistic sound effects with the use of 5.2 ch surround sound and promises to increase the tension of the player as he/ she enters the cockpit.

The demonstration period will be from August 13, 2014 until September 28, 2014.
