The anime/video game/ manga character-themed cars known as Itashas have now become one of the most iconic symbols of Japan’s otaku subculture and approximately 100 of these cars recently gathered near Chiba prefecture’s Chousei Station and many of them are not just inspired by anime, but by PC games as well.
The itashas featured several PC game characters like Kantai Collection’s Yamato as well as characters from anime, mangas, and console games as well as a few vocaloid characters and they all gathered in an event which was dubbed the EMTG in Nagara.
There was even a stage event with the itasha enthusiasts showing off their fandom.
The itashas may have been the stars of the show but there were also itacharis (the bicycle version of itashas) as well as motorcycles and scooters, all of which are inspired by an anime, manga, video game or a vocaloid character.
Some cars evwen came with their own cosplayer. Here’s some Nico-Nico-niiiiiiiiiiii for you!
Meanwhile, here are some of the other images of the great itashas which participated in the event
