The 2014 Summer anime season is now finally over and it has brought us plenty of unforgettable series. But which of them is the one which people found most interesting of all? Japanese media website Urepia aimed to find out which one and asked 1,000 people which Summer 2014 anime do they think is the interesting one last season.

The poll only involved anime which ended last season so anime which have continued to this new Fall 2014 season like Akame Ga Kill! are definitely not included. With the voting now over and done with and the results tallied, here are Urepia’s Top 20 most interesting anime of Summer 2014:

20) Love Stage (0.19%)

19) Shounen Hollywood (0.28%)

1) Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun (25.02%)

With its wacky characters, awkward situations, and a very good parody of the shoujo genre, Monthly Shoujo Nozaki-kun takes first place in Urepia’s rankings and it is not very surprising. Considered by many as the gem of last season, “Nozaki-kun” has made many stomachs hurt by making people laugh out loud.

#2 ranked Aldnoah.Zero is another anime which has been talked about much last season and it truly showed creator Gen Urobuchi’s unpredictability. #3 ranked Barakamon meanwhile has captured the hearts of many as it has become one of the best anime of Summer 2014 while #4 ranked Tokyo Ghoul could have done better as many were disappointed with its ending.

Perky moe anime Hanayamata meanwhile takes the #1 spot as its relaxing vibe eases some of the tension made by some of last season’s most heavily emotional anime like Aldnoah.Zero, Terror in Resonance, Akame Ga Kill!, and Tokyo Ghoul.
