New Year is one of the most important holidays in the Japanese calendar, and the celebrations have been known to last for more than a week. And with the announcement of the Pokemon bento meals for New Year, the official Japanese Pokemon website has announced a few new merchandise which will surely give the holiday a Pokemon twist.

Japanese usually send out New Year’s greetings, and with these Pokemon New Year’s cards, they can truly celebrate the holiday with some Poke cheer. They come as a set of three and will cost 286 yen.

Traditional New Year decorations in Japan include the Kodomatsu and the Shimekazari. These decorations are also given a Pokemon twist.

The Electric/ Fairy mouse Pokemon Dedenne has been turned into a Kagami Mochi, also a traditional Japanese New Year decoration.

Also announced are celebratory Pikachu chopsticks, A4 clearfiles, and 2015 Pokemon Center poti bags. These New Year items will be released on November 8, 2014 and will be available via the Pokemon Store in Amazon.
