There will always be mangas and light novels which are really good but will end without even getting a proper TV anime adaptation. In this week’s anime poll by Japanese anime character database, Charapedia, they asked their readers to weigh in on which manga or light novel deserves to have an anime adaptation. Now, there are certainly a lot of them out there, but only 20 of them were ranked.

The poll gathered 10,000 votes, with 51.6% of them being male and 48.4% being female. So which mangas or light novels are most deserving? Here are the results:

1) Bungou Stray Dogs (Manga by Kafuka Asagiri)

I’ve talked to a lot of anime fans from around the world, and a lot of them wanted to see One-Punch Man get an anime adaptation, however, in these rankings, looks like more Japanese fans want to see an anime adaptation of detective mystery manga, Bungou Stray Dogs, a little bit more.

OreImo creator Tsukasa Fushimi’s latest light novel series, Ero Manga Sensei, is the highest ranking light novel in the list, beating out NisiOisin’s Zaregoto series which also gained a strong showing by taking the 7th spot.

Yoshiyuki Tomino and Yuuichi Hasegawa’s mecha classic, Crossbone Gundam, may have already been over for more than two decades now, but it does not stop fans from wanting to see an anime adaptation of it. Hey, if Parasyte can get an anime more than 10 years after it ended, maybe Crossbone Gundam can too, right?

Other manga favorites like Ore-sama Teacher, Last Game, and Denpa Kyoushi also make it high in the list. Now what manga or light novel do you want to see adapted into an anime?
