With Bandai Namco’s latest Sword Art Online game shifting from the deadly world of Aincrad to the magical world of ALO, fans have been anticipating the game with much excitement.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song will be completely different from both Hollow Fragment and Infinity Moment as the world of ALO will be introducing two very new elements such as flight and magic. New details on this new flight system have revealed that the aerial battles will be fought in 360 degrees and boasts “free movement”, just like what fans have seen in the anime’s ALO arc. The transition from aerial and ground battles in the game has also been described as “seamless”. One moment you are fighting opponents in the air, and then a few seconds later, you can land and take on opponents in the ground.

Flight also allows players 360 degree movement not only in battle, but in exploring as well. As you are flying high in the sky, you can also swoop down on ground opponents using your sword skills or attack them from a distance using magic.

Another unique aspect of Lost Song is the use of magic. Players can freely wield magic which they can use for offence, defense, or for support purposes like buffs, debuffs, and healing. Magic can be used in both flight or on the ground. Since the game is based on the updated ALO, Sword Skills, which were prominent in the first two games, will also be employed.

It was also revealed that while you can only select one partner at a time for Hollow Fragment and Infinity Moment, you can have up to 2 in Lost Song. This new Party of 3 can be used more effectively, especially with two fighting and another one using magic from a distance either as support or offence.
