It has been confirmed that with a new director, studio, and character designer, the second season of the critically acclaimed My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU or Oregairu, titled Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Zoku, will be completely different from the first season. Now, newly released colored full-body versions of the initially released sketches confirm the shift in the anime’s character design.
They totally look different, don’t they? While Yukino seems more like the indifferent beauty that she is, and Yui seems happier and perkier than ever, the colored version of the new Hachiman design on the other hand just looks angry at the world, or at the very least, the concept of youth. Also revealed is the lovable “kouhai” named Iroha Isshiki who will be causing our bitter-bitter-sweet trio a bit of trouble.
Yeah, Hachiman looks a lot angrier with the full body version. I wonder what all sorts of great monologues he will come up with in the next season?
Character designer in Yuichi Tanaka (A Certain Scientific Railgun and A Certain Magical Index) will be replacing the first season’s character designer, Yuu Shindou (Persona 4: The Golden Animation). The animation production will also move from Brains Base to Studio Feel. There is also a change in director as Outbreak Company director Kei Oikawa takes over for Ai Yoshimura.
So what do you think of the new character designs?
