With his epic ninja manga, Naruto, now over and a The Last: Naruto the Movie having its official Japanese premiere on December 6, legendary manga creator, Masashi Kishimoto, recently sat down with AKB48 idol Rina Ikoma for an interview for the TV show, Mezamashi TV, however, his interviewer was so starstruck that something rather unexpected happened.
Masashi Kishimoto made Rina Ikoma cry! Wow, she must really be one huge Naruto fan for that kind of reaction. She was crying so much that Kishimoto even offered her some tissues.
After calming down a bit and getting shown his work studio (which included a life-size figure of Frieza), the Nogizaka46 member finally started her interview with Kishimoto. The manga legend talked about how he thought about how foreigners thought of Japan and how it led to him creating Naruto’s image. When Ikoma asked him if western cosplayers do a better job of cosplaying Naruto, Kishimoto answered that he actually liked Ikoma’s Sasuke Cosplay. He was of course talking about the time when Ikoma posed for Japan’s Playboy magazine cosplaying as Naruto’s friend and rival.
They then talked about The Last: Naruto the Movie. Ikoma asked Kishimoto if his real-life romantic experiences influenced the Naruto-Hinata love story. He answered that “a little bit” of his love experiences were inserted into the movie. He then talked about his wife knitting a scarf for him, and this serves as one of the inspirations for one of the upcoming movie’s scenes where Hinata knits a scarf for Naruto. How romantic.
The Last: Naruto the Movie will make its Japanese premiere on December 6, 2014 and has been announced to also show in the Philippines on December 17, 2014. The manga officially ended last Monday, which is considered a bittersweet moment for fans.
