Evangelion has emerged from out of nowhere to take several key spots in the rankings, away from the usual Sword Art Online and Fate/ Stay Night positions. This mysterious rise in the rankings may have been because of the December 2014 releases of the HD-remastered versions of the classic mecha anime.

Meanwhile, another “out of nowhere” entrant has emerged, and it is The [email protected], and these rise in the rankings would probably be from the Blu-ray release of the movie, as well as the high anticipation for Cinderella Girls, which will not, however, be focused on Haruka and the other 765 Pro idols.

While Kirito still shows that he is still Newtype’s most popular male character, with Fate’s Archer still in his heels at #2, Amagi Brilliant Park seems to be making its way up the rankings and is primed to challenge the usual winners. The female rankings meanwhile not only gets a couple of entries from Fate and Evangelion, but it is surprising that Asuna is the only SAO entry in that list.

And while Gundam SEED’s Kira and Lacus are nowhere to be seen (finally) after years of always being in the Top 10, Roddle Story of Devil’s Tokaku Azuma seems to be seeking to take their place as she has been a constant in the rankings since the anime premiered last Spring 2014.
