Japan’s Self Defense Force is no stranger in teaming up with certain anime series to recruit people into protecting the country, and for their latest video, they have teamed up with battleship anime, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, and featured voice actress Manami Numakara aboard a real warship.
Numakara, who voices Takao in Arpeggio of Blue Steel, went aboard the Aegis cruiser, Kirishima, along with a standee of her character and military critic, Isaku Okabe. The footage is to promote the new JMSDF (Japan Maritime Self Defense Force) weapons video by Shochiku, which will also come with a sticker of Takao.
Numakara has previously boarded another JMSDF warship to promote the Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova- anime, along with fellow Arpeggio voice actresses, Mai Fuchigami (Arpeggio’s Iona and Girls und Panzer’s Miho Nishizumi) and Hibiku Yamamura (Arpeggio’s Haruna).
On the other hand, the SDF has previously teamed up with Girls und Panzer for a tank DVD.
