Kantai Collection is already dominating the PCs and TVs as one of Japan’s most popular and influential franchises, and with the new arcade version announced, looks like the fleet girls are taking over arcades as well. During the Japan Amusement Expo 2015, Sega unveiled the upcoming arcade version‘s details, including how to play and how the machine would work and look.

Like the PC game, new “Admirals” or “Teitokus” can pick from one of five starter ships, all of whom are destroyers. They are Inazuma, Murakumo, Samidare, Sazanami, and of course, Bucky, I mean Fubuki. The demo shows Inazuma as the starter, and it was demonstrated on how to get her card once you’ve chosen her as the your starter ship. Her card will be dropped in the right-hand side right under what looks like a carrier’s flight deck.

You can then insert her card in the machine’s left side and start playing. The gameplay is just like the PC game but with more CG images and better graphics. When your ship girl gets heavily damaged, it is also shown that she will be moving in 3D, unlike the PC version.

Finally, when you get your next ship, in this case, the heavy cruiser, Atago, you can finally make your fleet even stronger, Pan-Paka-Pan! The demo shows Atago becoming the “Secretary Ship”, replacing Inazuma as the flagship of the main fleet.
