Megumi Ogata (Evangelion’s Shinji Ikari, Danganronpa’s Makoto Naegi) is coming to Lantis Festival Singapore on March 28
Megumi Ogata, the multi-talented Japanese voice actress and singer best known for being the voice of Neon Genesis Evangelion protagonist Shinji Ikari, will be performing at the Lantis Festival in Singapore on March 28, concert promoter Amuse Entertainment Singapore revealed in a special announcement tonight.
Outside of Evangelion’s Shinji Ikari, you may also have heard Ogata’s voice in the following anime: Sailor Moon (as Sailor Uranus), Danganronpa (Makoto Naegi), YuYu Hakusho (Kurama), Cardcaptor Sakura (Yukito Tsukishiro), Yu-Gi-Oh! (Yugi Mutou) and many more.
With this many stellar voice roles under her name, it’s no wonder that at her past live concert appearances, Ogata has often taken to belting out anime theme song covers for the various series she’s starred in — including Cruel Angel Thesis from Evangelion and Moonlight Densetsu from Sailor Moon.
And that’s on top of the original tracks from her singing career.
While it’s still a big secret as to which songs Megumi Ogata will be performing on the actual day, there’s certainly a lot that anisong fans can look forward to.
Ogata is the 8th anisong performer to grace the concert stage at The Star Theatre on March 28.
She will join her fellow Lantis artistes Minori Chihara, JAM Project, OLDCODEX, ChouCho, Azusa Tadokoro, Kenichi Suzumura and Kensho Ono on stage for an epic musical extravaganza lasting more than three hours long — the anisong concert is said to be the biggest of its kind in Singapore.
