Chaos Dragon may be one of the most massive creator collaborations in the history of the Japanese anime industry as it will involve big names such as Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Aldnoah.Zero, Psycho-Pass), Kinoko Nasu (Fate/ Stay Night, Kara no Kyoukai, Tsukihime), and Ryohgo Narita (Durarara!!, Baccano). The official website has started streaming the upcoming anime adaptation for this huge multi-media project, and here it is:

The video was originally played during the Machi Asobi event in Tokushima, Japan and it previews the anime’s story, which is set in the country of Nil, which is under attack by the country of Kouran while its neighbor and supposed ally, Donatia, did nothing. The story begin in the year 315 where the country of Nil no longer belongs to its people. The website also revealed the anime’s new key visual image.

Also involved in the project are Izuki Kougyaku (Mama, Garden Lost) and famous illustrator, Simadoriru. This massive project has been labeled as a “role-playing fiction” and all five of these great creative minds have created a character and they will guide table-top RPG gaming sessions created by Rental Magica’s Makoto Sanda. Each creator involved has created a new character for the franchise, and they are:

Ibuki, a royal family member from Nil Kamui. Created by Simadoriru

Eiha, Ibuki’s guardian. Created by Izuki Kougyaku

Soirot Clasbari, a Black Dragon Knight from Donatia. Created by Kinoko Nasu

Ro Chenfa, a Kouran assassin, created by Gen Urobuchi.

Kagraba, an immortal trader from the independent city of Haiga, created by Ryohgo Narita

Why do I get a feeling that Ro Chenfa is going to butcher a lot of lovable characters? And pretty much, Kinoko Nasu has created another blonde knight while Ryohgo Narita has created another immortal character which seems to not have a clear head. But all kidding aside, the anime adaptation will be animated by Silverlink and Connect, with Meganebu! animation director, Masato Matsune at the helm of the project as lead director.

A smartphone game and a table-top RPG are also part of this massive multi-media project, and it will include many famous writers and artists participating. More information will be made in days to come.
