Brace yourselves people, because it looks like we’re in it for the long haul as the official website of Toei Animation Europe has announced that the newest addition to the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball Super, will be at 100 episodes!
However, even though the European website lists the series as 100 episodes, the Japanese website still has not announced anything about the exact number of episodes for Dragon Ball Super.
Previously, the anime’s new key visual image has been unveiled, and it features two new characters. One of them looks like a fatter version of Beerus, and now, it has been unveiled that this new character will be named Shampa, which is to keep the Dragon Ball theme naming tradition after food as he is named after Champagne. Beerus is named after beer after all.
This new Dragon Ball anime series will premiere in Japan on July 5, 2015 via Fuji TV and will be the first new Dragon Ball anime since Dragon Ball GT ended back in 1998.
