Looks like legendary and Academy Award-winning anime director, Hayao Miyazaki, is not quite retired just yet as the Studio Ghibli co-founder will be doing a 10-minute anime short which will be his first time doing a 3DCG anime!
Studio Ghibli co-founder, Toshio Suzuki, has announced that Miyazaki will be doing his very first 3DCG anime, “Kemushi no Boro”, which means Boro the Caterpillar, Suzuki revealed that the 74-year old anime legend is very much excited to take up this new challenge.
“Kemushi no Boro” will be a 10-minute short animated film and will exclusively be screened over at the Ghibli Museum in Japan. The film might only be 10-minutes long, however, it seems that it took three years just to make it. The idea for this anime came about back in 1997 just before the release of another one of Miyazaki’s most powerful and influential works, “Princess Mononoke”.
