The June 2016 edition of Nakayoshi magazine has made one big and very important announcement, as it revealed that CLAMP will be launching a brand new Cardcaptor Sakura manga series, and it will be a sequel to the original 90’s magical girl manga, which has become part of the childhood of many.
The manga will once again follow Sakura Kinomoto, who is now a 1st year middle school student and has graduated from Tomoeda Elementary School. However, she gets a mysterious dream, and an incident occurs. The manga is set to be serialized in the July issue of Nakayoshi, which will be out on June 3, 2016.
Previously, the magazine announced that there will be a “New Project” for the Cardcaptor Sakura franchise, but did not indicate what it will be. It was then announced that the project will in fact be a manga by CLAMP, but they were also indicating that it will not be a full series. This new manga is part of the series’ 20th anniversary.
