During yesterday’s “Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV” event for the upcoming Final Fantasy game for the PlayStation 4, it was announced that there will be a story to set up the events of the game, and it will be released as a 5-episode anime titled Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, which will follow the exploits of Noctis, Gladios, Ignis, and Prompto before the game.
The first of five episodes has now been released, complete with English subtitles, and you can watch it here:
Kinda makes you want more, huh? A-1 Pictures, the same studio which brought us Sword Art Online and The [email protected], was responsible for animating the prequels. The anime is currently being streamed via the Final Fantasy XV YouTube channel.
Aside from the anime, the game will also have a feature-length CGI movie, which is titled Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. The film will be following the story of King Regis after Noctis leaves for his trip. Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star, Sean Bean, will be the voice of King Regis in the English version, while his Game of Thrones co-star and nemesis, Lena Headey will voice Lunafreya. Breaking bad star, Aaron Paul, will be voicing Nyx.
So Sean Bean is voicing King Regis? That wouldn’t be good for the character since… Sean Bean tends to die in his movies. But it is confirmed that the same team behind Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, is the same team working on Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
