The 90’s was a magical time for anime, as it was the time period when the voice acting industry boomed and that the entire anime industry really came together. It also featured some pretty awesome Anime songs!

For this week’s poll. anime character database, Charapedia, asked 10,000 anime fans (61.6% male, 38.4% female) to rank their favorite anime songs or Anisongs from the 90’s which are performed by FEMALE singers, and they chose:

Come on, you saw it coming more than a mile away, and we did too! Cruel Angel’s Thesis ain’t just considered an anime song, but it’s THE anime song, and it’s even considered the greatest of all time by many, so it’s not surprising that fans voted for it to reach the top spot.

The rankings have shown plenty of huge classics which hit us right in the childhood. While Evangelion predictably won this poll, other 90’s anime franchises also did well, such as Sailor Moon, Gundam, and Detective Conan, who all have multiple entries in the rankings.
