Fans get to create their own Detective Conan character, winning design to be used by Gosho Aoyama himself
Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga is celebrating its latest milestone, as the manga finally reaches 200 million manga volumes being sold worldwide across 25 countries. To celebrate, the legendary mangaka is asking for fans to help with the design of a new Detective Conan character, who will serve as a witness to an upcoming new mystery.
Using a character maker found in the official Detective Conan website, fans can determine just how exactly they want the new character to look like. The choices in the selection all feature Gosho Aoyama’s distinctive art style, so you’d know that the design will fit into the manga art-wise. Fans can then determine the name, gender, and age of their creations. After everything is done, they can then send it off to the website for consideration.
Meanwhile, the Yomiuri Shimbun also ran an ad celebrating Gosho Aoyama’s 200 million milestone. Congratulations Gosho Aoyama!
