Pioneer Films, which distributes Kyoto Animation’s anime movie adaptation of A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi) in the Philippines, has announced that their initially planned release date for April 15 has been cancelled. The film was originally planned to premiere on April 15, but due to theater unavailability, they cancelled the screening.

Their official Facebook page announced the cancellation, as they released this statement:

Dear Viewer’s we regret to inform you that the release of “A Silent Voice” on Saturday, April 15, is cancelled due to unavailibity of theaters. Please wait for further announcements. Thank you for your understanding.

The Facebook announcement was met with a lot of criticisms from the Filipino fans, who were clearly unhappy with the cancellation. However, Pioneer Films did reveal that they are still planning to show the movie, but on a much later date.
