Don’t look now, but we may have more Fate/Grand Order anime coming up in the future. This is because during his Sony IR (investor relations) Day 2017 presentation, Sony president and CEO Kazuo Hirai dropped a huge hint at yet another anime coming up for the Type-Moon smartphone game.

With over 8 million players in Japan, and about to reach 9 million, as well as expansions in China and the US, Fate/Grand Order has become one of Japan’s most successful smartphone games, so the game getting yet another anime isn’t surprising at all. They will treat the new anime as an “extension” of the franchise, though they didn’t discuss further details.

During the new year, Fate/Grand Order got its own TV anime special, titled Fate/Grand Order: First Order. However, it got mixed reactions from fans.

So, what do you think of the Sony president’s announcement of a new Fate anime? What do you think it will be? Will it be another anime special, or will it be a TV anime series? Or will it be an OVA, or even a movie? Expect that Sony, Type-Moon, or the anime staff to make more announcements in the days to come, so stay tuned.
