Brace yourselves folks, because yet another fantasy light novel series is getting a TV anime adaptation, and this time, it’s Aneko Yusagi’s Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, or The Rising of the Shield Hero. Flyers from MF Bunko revealed the news about the anime adaptation.
Much like most fantasy novels, this one involves an otaku who suddenly gets transported into a parallel world. It follows the said otaku, Naofumi Iwatani, who suddenly becomes the “Shield Hero” for a party of four heroes tasked to save the world from a prophecy of destruction. However, he seems to be weak, and gets abandoned by his party. Now alone and armed only with his shield, Naofumi must now rise up and be the legendary hero he was supposed to be.
A new PV will be revealed during the Anime Expo event on July 1, while MF Bunko’s official website will be revealing more information about the anime this weekend. Expect them to reveal more details about this new anime in the days to come, so stay tuned.
