After teasing what Ryuk looks like in its poster visual, Netflix has now revealed a brand new trailer for their live-action American adaptation of  Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s bestselling thriller manga, Death Note. The new video teases the story, and features the main characters, Light, L, and of course, Ryuk, who is voiced by Willem Dafoe.

So far, Ryuk and the Death Note itself look like they are quite loyal to the original source manga… except it has an American cast of course.

Aside from the new trailer and poster visual, Netflix also revealed a new Filmmaker Featurette for Death Note, featuring Adam Wingard, the movie’s director.

Netflix will show the manga-based live-action movie starting August 25, 2017. The movie stars The Fault in Our Stars’ Nat Wolff as Light Turner (Light Yagami), Straight Outta Compton’s Keith Stanfield as L, and The Leftovers’ Margaret Qualley as Mia Sutton (Misa Amane). Masi Oka, who played Hiro in the Heroes TV series, will not only be producing the movie, but will also play a role in it.
