Dagashi Kashi is getting a second TV anime season next year, as well as having Vol. 8 of the manga released later this week. And to celebrate these, as well as prepare for the release of the next chapter, series mangaka Kotoyama tweeted a video of how to draw the manga’s main heroine, Hotaru Shidare.

The manga’s Volume 8 will be released in Japan this Friday, August 25, 2017. As for the TV anime, it will have a new staff and studio, but the voice cast will remain the same.
Tezuka Productions will now be animating the series, while feel., which animated the first season, is credited with setting cooperation. Meanwhile. Satoshi Kuwabara is now the new director, with Young Black Jack’s Nana Miura now acting as the new character designer. This means that expect the characters to look a little differently from the first season. More details about the second season will be revealed in the days to come. The new anime will premiere in 2018.
