On New Year’s eve, Fate/Grand Order fans and players are in for a real treat, because much like last year, the Type-Moon smartphone RPG is also getting a TV special. However, the game ain’t just getting one anime for New Year’s Eve this year, but two!
The first TV special is is based on Eiichirou Mashin’s four-koma school comedy manga Himuro no Tenchi Fate/school life. Titled Fate/Grand Order x Himuro no Tenchi ~7-nin no Saikyou Ijin-Hen, the new anime will follow Kaede Makidera, Kane Himuro, and Yukika Saegusa. However, the three girls aren’t trying to restore the Human Order in this anime. ufotable will be animating the short, with Takahiro Miura serving as technical director.
As for the second anime short, it has the title Fate/Grand Order -Moonlight/Lostroom-. It focuses on a lost room on a forgotten corner of Chaldea, where people can find “what is lost”. Fate co-creator Kinoko Nasu himself wrote the script, with Lay-Duce animating it.
The two specials will also make several big announcements, as it takes a look at the Fate Projects for 2018. It will also take 2017 into retrospective as well. Several networks will be airing the specials in Japan on December 31, starting 10:00 JST.
