Ladies and gentlemen, prepare for more gore and violence, as the dark fantasy light novels, Goblin Slayer, is getting a TV anime! During the Wonder Festival 2018 (Winter) event, light novel brand GA Bunko held their “GA Bunko 2018 Happyou Stage” presentation, and they didn’t just announce that Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is getting a second season, but also revealed the anime adaptation of Kumo Kagyu’s Goblin Slayer light novels. They also revealed this announcement PV:
Expect the anime to be pretty dark, because WHITE FOX, the studio which animated Re:Zero, is also working on Goblin Slayer. They also unveiled a brand new key visual which features the titular Goblin Slayer himself.
Aside from the upcoming TV anime, the series also has a manga adaptation by Kousuke Kurose. Here’s how Yen Press describes the light novels’ story:
A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…
So far, GA Bunko hasn’t announced any further details, so expect them to reveal more information like release period, number of episodes, and more in the days to come.
