Sunrise has announced a new addition to the Tiger & Bunny anime franchise, however, it won’t be focusing on Wild Tiger and Barnaby Brooks Jr. Titled Double Decker! Doug & Kirill, the new anime series will be a spin-off to the popular superhero anime. Here is its key visual:
Much like the original Tiger & Bunny, Double Decker! Doug and Kirill will be a “Buddy Series”, and will be one part of the new Tiger & Bunny anime project. It will follow the two-man detective team of Doug Billingam (CV: Satoshi Mikami) and Kirill Vlueberry (CV: Kouhei Amasaki).
Joji Furuta, the director of Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments, will be at the helm of the project. He previously worked in the original anime series as an episode director. And much like the original anime, Sunrise will be handling the animation production while mangaka Masakazu Katsura (Zetman) is doing the character designs. The anime will be making its premiere in 2018.
Aside from this new anime series, Tiger & Bunny is also receiving its own live-action Hollywood film (and a fan even suggested who should be cast in it). The movie is part of a collaboration between Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment and All Nippon Entertainment Works and Bandai Namco Pictures. These companies will be responsible for producing the live-action movie, however, no director or script writer have been announced.
